SAFE COP SUPPORT SERVICES FOR DISABLED AND SLAIN OFFICERS: ITALIAN STATE POLICE OFFICER DANIELE MACCIANTELLI

On March 2, 2009, the NPDF travelled to Genoa, Italy to present a “Valor Award” posthumously to the family of slain Italian State Police Officer Daniele Macciantelli who was killed in the line of duty in September 2008. The officer was responding to a domestic violence call when he was fatally stabbed by the suspect. The dedication took place in Genoa, Italy and my presence as a US law enforcement official was recognized by the Commanding General of the Italian State Police and Italian government.
