SAFE COP SUPPORT SERVICES FOR DISABLED AND SLAIN OFFICERS: FBI SPECIAL AGENT BARRY LEE BUSH

In 2007, The Safe Cop program paid for the funeral and related burial expenses of FBI S/A Barry Bush who was shot and killed on April 5, 2007 by another agent while he and other agents conducted surveillance on a group of three suspects wanted for robbing several banks in central New Jersey. As FBI SWAT team members converged on the stolen vehicle at the PNC Bank, S/A Bush and his team were advised to arrest the lookout across the street from the bank. S/A Bush began to exit his vehicle when a FBI SWAT team member mistook him as the robber, mortally wounding him.
