SAFE COP REWARD PAYMENTS: PATERSON POLICE OFFICER TYRON FRANKLIN

On January 7, 2007, Paterson, NJ Police Officer Tyron Franklin was killed in the line of duty on January 7, 2007 during a botched armed robbery attempt at a local fast food restaurant. The officer was 23 years old and an eight-month veteran of the Paterson Police Department. The posting and subsequent payment of the Safe Cop reward was instrumental in securing critical information the led to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, Teddy Charlemagne who is now serving a 37-year prison sentence.
