It all started with an email request on April 22, 2017 from Thomas S. Powrie, National President of the International Police Association (IPA), U.S. Section regarding the plight of one year old Libby Risin who is batting a rare cancer that could not be treated in Israel.

Little Libby was scheduled to undergo experimental proton radiation therapy on May 1, 2017 at the Pro-Cure Hospital in Somerset, New Jersey. The IPA asked for the assistance of the NPDF Operation Kids program in helping to fund lodging for the Risin Family that is expected to last for six weeks. The NPDF agreed and on May 1, 2017 hosted the family with a welcome dinner to the United States.

Capt. Risin who is also an attorney is assigned to the Israeli Criminal Investigations Division and active member of the IPA. Let’s say a special prayer that this life-saving cancer treatment is successful.

Any person interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the Risin family should call 877-325-KIDS or email at npdf1@aol.com
