On July 15, 2019, the Freehold Boro YMCA, Freehold Borough Police Department held and National Police Defense Foundation held a youth event at Liberty Oak Park. It marked the fourth year that the National Police Defense Foundation was the event’s sponsor under their “Operation Kids” program. This year’s event provided free lunch and ice cream to the children and held different athletic activities such as playing basketball with the police officers and rock-wall climbing. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department had a special K-9 presentation of a staged takedown of a fleeing suspect by their K-9 dog.” Special thanks to NPDF Delegate Craig McGraw for helping to organize this event that was attended by a hundred or more children from that community.
