“OPERATION KIDS” HELPS 5-YEAR-OLD ECUADORIAN CHILD GET COCHLEAR IMPLANT AFTER LOSING HEARING AS A TODDLER

Morganville, NJ, March 7, 2022:

The Operation Kids program of the National Police Defense Foundation, a congressionally recognized and IRS designated 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, is pleased to announce it provided humanitarian assistance to 5- year- old Ian Flores Bravo, son of Ecuador National Police Officer Angel Bravo. The NPDF helped fund the life changing cochlear implant surgery in Ecuador after a formal request from the Ecuadorian Police Foundation after the child lost his hearing over a year ago

About one year ago, Ian’s parents had noticed that little Ian was having speech difficulties and trouble understanding. He was examined by Dr. Rosaura Bravo Pita of Quito Hospital #1 who diagnosed the child with SEVERE DEEP BILATERAL NEUROSEBCORIAL HEARING with a poor prognosis for hearing recovery. It was immediately recommended that Ian receive the COCHLEAR implant surgery and we are pleased to announce that the surgery was a success and Ian is now resting comfortably with his loving family by his bedside.

Special thanks to Ian’s surgeons and medical staff who performed this complex surgery, as well as NPDF Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti, Delegate to Ecuador Jose Zhanay and Legal Counsel Dr. Fernando Vargas for coordinating this humanitarian mission.
