NPDF Member Lt. Albert Primo of the Jefferson University Public Safety Department is requesting assistance to help raise money for the funeral expenses for his father, also named Albert Primo. His father, Agent Primo retired in 2014 from the Jefferson University Public Safety Department after serving on the force for 39 years. Unfortunately, he was not eligible for any death or funeral benefits after retirement from his employer.
Agent Primo had been a kidney patient receiving Dialysis treatments 3x a week for almost 4 years since retirement. He had a Heart Bypass 10 years ago. Due to his illnesses, Agent Primo was on approximately 19 different medications that cost hundreds of dollars each month that was not covered by insurance. This coupled with the non-existence of a life insurance policy created a financial hardship for the family.
Lt. Primo set up a GoFundMe account, but it isn’t drawing very much attention. As of today’s, date, it has raised $975 of the $13,000 that they are looking for over a period of 29 days.
