NPDF HONORS HEROIC WOMAN WHO HELPED SAVE NEWARK PO’S LIFE.

MORGANVILLE, NJ November 11,2022:

The National Police Defense Foundation (NPDF) is proud to announce the presentation of a Safe Cop Reward of $1,000 to a Newark resident who braved gunfire to help save the life of an injured Police Officer who was shot, along with his partner, by a sniper on November 1st. 2022. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and the Newark Police Department cited the woman’s heroism in an awards ceremony attended by NPDF Executive Director Joe Occhipinti and NPDF Director of Program Services Mike Barry who presented the anonymous hero with a Safe Cop Reward of $1,000.

Investigators say that the gunman opened fire Tuesday as the officers tried to make an arrest warrant for a previous shooting. The officers are in stable condition and are recovering. Suspect Kendall Howard was taken into custody the next morning.

The National Police Defense Foundation has taken an active role in helping to identify and apprehend anyone who shoots or kills a police officer. Under the leadership and guidance of Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti, we offer a ten-thousand-dollar reward ($10,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone who shoots or kills a member of the law enforcement community.
