NPDF HONORS 101 YEAR OLD DECEASED WW2 VET BY INDUCTING HIM INTO NPDF POSTHUMOUSLY

The National Police Defense Foundation (NPDF) is proud to announce the posthumous induction of a 101-year-old decorated US Army veteran into the NPDF. John S. Juliano of Manchester NJ served with the 146th Armored Signal Company in the European theater of war during WW2 where he operated tactical field radio equipment. Wireless operators like John, who served behind enemy lines, had an immensely important job that was particularly dangerous due to the equipment that they carried, which was essential for communications. But it was cumbersome to transport thereby making them desirable targets for the enemy.

The unparalleled bravery demonstrated by John Juliano stands as a testament to the pride and dedication of those men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces.

When Executive Director Joe Occhipinti learned from John’s dedicated hospice representative of his bravery in war and the fact that he died penniless, the NPDF decided to satisfy the cost of providing John with a dignified funeral and burial at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. A brave American veteran of 101 years of age is entitled to be laid to rest with dignity.

The National Police Defense Foundation is an IRS designated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization under registration number 13-3830191 and therefore all donations for this and other programs and services are tax-deductible.
