NPDF HELPS RESTORE HEARING FOR TODDLER GRENDEL

The NPDF Operation Kids program has achieved another success in arranging and funding for a cochlear implant for Toddler Grendel Moran from Santiago, Dominican Republic.

In March 2018, the NPDF Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti procured a medical visa for Toddler Grendel Moran at the American Consulate at Santo Domingo. The plight of the toddler was brought to the attention by clergy and elected officials from Santiago.

In May 2018,Grendel underwent a successful cochlear implant surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine and has returned to his native country last week. Attached is a video that shows for he first time in his life that he was able to hear!

Special thanks to The Fresh Start Caring For Kids Foundation and our own Secretary Norma Delgado for transporting Grendel and his mother to Chicago for the medical procedure.
