Baby Nolan is the second son born to a Law Enforcement colleague. From the moment of his birth it was clear that he was in dire straits. After a prolonged and grueling series of difficult testing he was diagnosed with a very rare neonatal epileptic condition called KCNQ2 Encephalopathy. Abnormal changes or mutations in a gene are associated with seizures and impaired cognitive and motor skill development.
Kara and Tom Boulter want to bring their baby home but daunting will be the cost of constant lifelong, skilled nursing care and the management of Nolan’s special medical needs.
