NPDF MOURNS THE LOSS OF HERO DET. STEVEN D. McDONALD

Please take a moment of silence to remember NYPD 1st. Grade Detective Steven D. McDonald who passed away today, after suffering a heart attack several days ago. Steven was a stand-up cop, who forgave a gunman that shot him three times, leaving him a paraplegic while he was investigating a robbery in Central Park back in July 1986. Despite his disability, Steven continued to work for the NYPD to provide guidance and support to other disabled police officers injured in the line of duty. I had the distinct privilege to know Steven and appreciated the way he supported the law enforcement officers the NPDF represented in legal defense cases.
