On Sunday, May 1, 2016, NPDF Founders Angela & Joe Occhipinti attended the 26th Annual Memorial Breakfast of the New York State Shield (nyshields.org) to honor law enforcement officials
who made the ultimate sacrifice. A total of twenty-one active and retired law enforcement officials, many of whom recently passed from illnesses at Ground Zero, were remembered in a moving memorial with the background
of the NYS Shields Pipe & Drum Band playing Amazing Grace and helicopter flyover by the NYPD. The family members of the deceased officers posthumously received Medals of Valor. The NPDF is proud to have shared a
long-term relationship with the New York State Shields whose motto is “Cops for Cops”.
