NPDF OPERATION KIDS SPONSORS LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL IN MEMORY OF SLAIN NYPD OFFICER

On April 26, 2014 the NPDF Executive Director marched in a NYPD community parade to celebrate the opening day of the “Police Officer Michael J. Buczek Little League” in Washington, Heights, New York. Police Officer Michael Buczek was killed by foreign drug lords on October 18, 1988 and the little league team was established in his memory. NPDF Executive Director who had been assigned to a NYPD task force that solved that homicide remembers the Police Officer Buczek as being a dedicated and courageous officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. The NPDF Operation Kids program became a proud sponsor of one of the baseball teams in memory of NYPD Sergeant John Couglin who was killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack while attempting to rescue victims trapped in the World Trade Center.
