Morganville, NJ, NOVEMBER 13, 2017: Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti announced the posting of the $10,000 Safe Cop Reward involving the armed assault on Cordele Police Officer Brian Lewis.
Police Chief Rob Rodriguez of the Cordele Police Department (GA) reported that Police Officer Lewis attempted to pull over a vehicle that was driving without lights. The vehicle pulled over and allegedly began shooting at the officer without cause.
An investigation has identified the suspect as Quotavious Cochran AKA “Tip”, 26 years old with no known address. Cochran is a suspected gang member with an outstanding parole warrant and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The posting of the $10,000 Safe Cop reward was predicated upon a formal request from the Chief Rob Rodriguez to post the reward in hopes of obtaining public information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
NPDF Executive Director stated, “It is critical that we seek the help of that community to help bring to justice this perpetrator who saw fit to commit an armed assault on a dedicated law enforcement official”.
The Safe Cop program is a congressionally recognized law enforcement initiative of the National Police Defense Foundation that posts up to a $10,000 reward for public information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person who shoots at a law enforcement officer, anywhere in the United States.
