As part of “Operation Kids”, the NPDF coordinated the following noteworthy humanitarian projects that provided lifesaving operations and medical treatments for critically ill and severely handicapped children worldwide. These humanitarian projects often involve the NPDF’s travel abroad for conferences with foreign government officials, procurement of State Department visas, liaison with police organizations and the transportation of these children to the United States for lifesaving operations and medical treatment. These humanitarian programs are credited for fostering positive police relations within the US immigrant and minority communities. Because of these efforts, the NPDF has received numerous international and congressional awards and was profiled by major news networks one of which included the “CBS Early Show”.
