Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti, along with the Executive Board of the National Police Defense Foundation (NPDF), wish to express their outrage and disgust with the actions of far-left radical group ANTIFA to expose and publicize the names, pictures, spouses, and home addresses of ICE agents knowing that doing so could harm the agents and their families. Antifa radical, Sam Lavigne, an adjunct professor at New York University’s Tisch School, created a database of 1,595 ICE employees by using their LinkedIn profiles and shared it with his 3,600 followers on Twitter Tuesday morning and today.
Antifa, the reputed far-left organization, labelled as “domestic terrorists,” picked up the database and spread it. The database also spread to a subgroup on Reddit that encourages spreading personal and private information — such as where they live and their contact information, known as “doxing” — of people who they consider to be “Nazis” or “alt-right” and who they claim includes ICE and the NSA.
Consequently, the NPDF’s Executive Board is taking the unprecedented step of expanding their highly successful Safe Cop Program to offer a $10,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone who in any way uses the internet to threaten, harm, assault, kill, maim or injure a law enforcement officer.
Free speech is the hallmark of a free society, but no one has the right to abuse that right by using social media to harm law enforcement officers or to encourage others to do so, simply for doing their jobs. Harassment, intimidation, and empowering others to commit acts of violence against our law enforcement officers have no place in a civil society.
The National Police Defense Foundation encourages everyone who is equally outraged by ANTIFA’S despicable acts to join Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti and the NPDF to denounce these unlawful acts that encourages the armed attacks on any law enforcement.
Similarly, the National Police Defense Foundations supports the efforts of President Nate Catura of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) who has called upon the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate these physical threats on federal officers that appears to be a federal crime.
