On January 9, 2017, John R. McLaughlin, Administrator of the Safe Cop program, expressed the NPDF’s deepest condolences on the loss of Orlando Police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton who was shot and killed today. Orange County Deputy Norman Lewis was later killed in an auto accident while searching for Clayton’s assailant. The suspect is being sought in connection with the officer’s murder.

The NPDF offered Chief John Mina the posting of a $10,000 Safe Cop Reward for public information leading to the arrest and conviction of the officer.

Chief,

We at the National Police Defense foundation recently read of the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of Sergeant Debra Clayton.

Therefore I am acting on behalf of our Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti, and offering to post a $10,000.00 reward for the arrest and successful prosecution of the suspect(s) in this case.

We would require that you request in writing on your letterhead to have us post that reward so hopefully the perpetrators in this horrendous attack on one of our own, can be brought to justice swiftly.

Please Contact our Executive Director at your earliest convenience to discuss further. The Safe Cop Program can be found in depth here: https://www.npdf1.org/safe-cop/
